RATED THE BEST RESORT COURSE IN WA

The Joondalup Country Club is a 30 min drive north of Perth in the suburb of Connolly, an estate created in the early 1980’s. There are three nine-hole courses – Lake, Dune and Quarry.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., Joondalup – “the place of shining waters” is one of only a handful of projects undertaken in Australia by the esteemed course architect. Joondalup’s sister club Meadow Springs in Mandurah, is also a RTJ creation.

The three courses are routed over a harsh landscape of bush, gum trees, rocky outcrops, limestone quarries, lakes and dunes – quite a combination which allows the much used phrase ‘no two holes are the same’.

COURSE MAINTENANCE TEAM

The course maintenance team is led by our Course Superintendant Ashley Watson, with over 30 years experience at Joondalup Country Club. Awarded the 2019 West Australian Golf Industry Excellence in Golf Course Management, Ash leads a passionate and dedicated team that strive to provide the best quality playing experience for members, guests and the public.

Throughout the 645-hectare property, vast tracts of indigenous Tuart trees, native brush and grass species grow. These areas (natural roughs, lakes, and other environmentally sensitive areas) are maintained in a manner that enhances their natural characteristics while maintaining the playability and integrity of the course. Resident kangaroos and bird life are a feature of the course.

The overall goal of the Course Superintendant and the maintenance team is to maintain all aspects of the course so as to meet the vision of the golf course architect, the expectations of JRI and the members, and the standards consistent with an internationally renowned golf course.
